I found coaching to be a great way to stay connected to the sport but also loved so many other aspects – namely, building relationships with players, and teaching kids about goal-setting, teamwork, and communication. While earning my master’s, I found that I missed volleyball and decided to volunteer as a coach for the Torrey Pines High School boys’ volleyball program. I then moved back to San Diego and earned my master’s degree in educational counseling from Point Loma Nazarene, and became a high school counselor. I played volleyball in college at Chico State and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I grew up in Carmel Valley and lettered in volleyball and water polo for Torrey Pines High School. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far. Today we’d like to introduce you to Brennan Dean.īrennan, let’s start with your story.
